The Love of God - 27th September

The theme for our service of worship this Sunday is “The Love of God”. We come to one of the most life-changing passages in the New Testament, Romans 8:31-39. Peter Thatcher will be opening up the passage for us and we are grateful to him for his thoughtful preparation and prayer.

Harvest Service - 20th September

The focus for this year’s All Age Harvest Service is a ministry already well known to us as a church and very much close to our hearts; the Guinebor II hospital in Chad.We will be using the resources provided for us by BMS called ‘Operation Chad’ as a way of learning more about the story of Guinebor II hospital, BMS World Mission’s beacon of hope in the hostile Sahel desert.

Chad is a place where the threats of Coronavirus and Boko Haram loom large and where the life expectancy averages 50 years old, in part because Chad has the third highest infant mortality rate in the world. In the service there will be a plea to consider donating to this important ministry of the Guinebor II hospital. Here’s the link to the BMS webpage where donations can be made: https://www.bmsworldmission.org/appeal/operation-chad

Catrin, one of our Elders, will be talking to us about Evangelism in this our ‘2020 Year of Evangelism’ and Tim, our minister, will be bringing us God’s word as we continue in our series of sermons on the Book of Romans. Today we look at Chapter 8 verses 18-30 ‘The Will of God’.

The Children of God - 6th September

Once again it is a great pleasure to welcome you all to our virtual gathering. Wherever you will be, and whatever time it will be, when you join in our worship, may you be blessed and may you truly know God’s presence. May you be encouraged, strengthened, comforted by our worship and may it set you right for the week ahead. John Holmes, one of our Elders, will be bringing us God’s word as we move on in our series of sermons on the Book of Romans.

Toward the end of the service we will be celebrating the Lord’s Supper or as some call it: Communion. So we would encourage you to take part with us, though we are scattered around the county, country and world. Jesus is not limited to a building, but is everywhere and as we take part, we are drawn closer to Him and to each other.

The Law of God - 23rd August

This Sunday, Roger Orr is bringing God’s Word to us from Romans 7 – about the Law of God and how it is relevant to Christians today. We will also have a special welcome by some of the members of the Fellowship. It is so good to see familiar faces for those of us who attend Bluntisham Baptist Church.

The New Life of God - 16th August

The world around is us is moving so fast and is constantly changing just like the weather this week or the world of politics. Isn’t it good to know that God is always constant – He never changes, He doesn’t blow hot and cold, He doesn’t keep changing His mind. In times of uncertainty we need a solid foundation from which to grow. Tim will be preaching on The New Life of God from Romans 7 and without giving too much away you may need gardening gloves. I think it is great to have some healthy theology on which to focus especially with all the present anxieties and confusion.

The service this week also includes an interview with Claire Bedford our Church Partner in Chad and she kindly produced a prayer letter with an update on life in Guinebor II straight after the recording which is available on our website.

The Free Gift of God - 9th August

The theme of today’s service as we continue in our Romans series is ‘The Free Gift of God’. Verse 23 of Romans chapter 6 tells us that, ‘the gift of God is eternal life in Christ Jesus’. Perhaps our overfamiliarity with this truth causes us to take for granted what an amazing gift of grace we are offered in Christ. What a special message Paul is delivering to us here in this passage – that we can know eternal life in heaven with Christ.

The Grace of God - 26th July

This is the last week with our shortened service without some of our usual aspects in it. As Tim has explained Peter very kindly offered to produce the online service for the whole of July within the first 7 days before he goes on holiday! However, due to the sheer amount of work this involves cramming into a short space of time, it means that our online services have been a little more ‘slimmed down’ than they have been previously.
