Virtual Church

The Kindness of God - 22nd November

Welcome to our Virtual service for Sunday 22nd November. The theme for this week is the Kindness of God. We'll be introducing our advent series and there’ll be a “Blue Peter” moment as Catrin and Anna attempt to make their own Advent Calendar of Kindness! If you’d like to join in sharing the kindness of God during Advent, why not make one too?

Dan and Catrin will be leading a time of prayer - this has an interactive element that everyone can join in with. You’ll need an apple (& a knife to chop it), some plasters (& a piece of cardboard eg an old box) and a mirror if you want to be practical as you pray.

Tim will be bringing God’s word to us, the last Romans sermon for a while as we pause for our Advent series beginning 29th November.

Bible Sunday - 15th November

This Sunday is the special service we have every year to really promote the bible and encourage us to get into God’s word. That’s not to say we are not encouraging getting into God’s word in the other 51 weeks of the year! It’s just that this all age service has a special focus for us this Sunday on getting more out of God’s word.

Remembrance Sunday - 8th November

Our service this week marks the special Sunday where we remember those brave men and women who gave their lives fighting for our freedom in the world wars. This time of remembrance stirs up deep emotions for many of us and in many different ways. Some have lost loved ones, family or friends in wars and conflict. We also grieve for those still giving up their lives for our freedom in the ongoing conflicts around the world today. Whatever the nature of your loss and bereavement, the word of the eternal, living God reveals to us that the earth has no sorrow that heaven cannot heal and that the gains of heaven will more than compensate for the losses of earth.

We will be observing two minutes of silence in our online service today. If you wish to observe this silence at 11.00am you will need to start the online video at 10.42am.

The Elect of God - 1st November

As you can see from the title of the service, this week Tim, our minister, will be preaching on ‘The Elect of God’. If, like me, you’re pondering the thought… ‘I wonder what that means?’ don’t worry, Tim will unpack it for us as we explore Romans 11:1-14

Towards the end of our virtual gathering, we will be sharing Communion together, so do have some bread and juice or wine ready with you.

The Good News of God - 25th October

Welcome to our Virtual service for Sunday 25th October. The theme for this week is the Good News of God. I invited our church family to share some good news stories with me earlier in the week. The children did a great job at letting me know their good news and you can hear their stories in the video. My hope for this morning’s service is that as you hear the good news stories from the fellowship and all about the Good news of God from Wayne that your heart will be lifted and your mind inspired. That you will sing with the Psalmist, a new song to the Lord.

The Righteousness of God - 18th October

Are you hiding from God? That’s a very tricky question to answer at the moment and the first response will, I suspect, be “of course not”. When you think about it, then perhaps you may start to reconsider your answer. Without our usual Sunday church service you may be finding it hard to maintain or grow your faith, however the good news is that God is not hiding, He is always with us and He never gets tired.

The Mercy of God - 11th October

If you’re joining us for online church this Sunday – welcome! Whether you attended our church before we had to cease meeting together physically or have recently joined us via this online format, my hope and prayer for you this day is that you will meet with God and receive from him what he has for you. We will be worshiping together and spending a significant amount of time in prayer and intercession today, our nation and our world certainly need it. We are continuing in our teaching series in the New Testament book of Romans. One of the themes of Paul’s letter to both the Jews & Gentiles in Rome is that all of us are saved by a work of God in our lives and nothing else.

As you join with us, your church family, online this Sunday, may you know a tangible sense of God’s presence with you as you worship, pray, read God’s word and share in communion together. Catrin and her homegroup members will be leading communion for us, so please try and make sure that you have some bread and wine or juice with you so that you can share communion with us.
