Prayer Matters: Spiritual Warfare - 7th March

The service this morning is the last in the series on Prayer Matters and to complete the picture Catrin will be looking at the topic of Spiritual Warfare which is a challenging subject to all of us. The service will also include communion which compliments todays subject matter.

John 3:16 provides real comfort when we are struggling so the opening of the service will be a great time to reflect and find peace through these words.

Prayer Matters: Listening - 28th February

Once again, welcome to our virtual gathering. Wherever you will be, and whatever time it will be when you join in our worship, may you be blessed and may you truly know God’s presence. May you be encouraged, strengthened, comforted by our worship and may it set you right for the week ahead.

I hope, that like me, you were encouraged by the government’s plans, announced earlier this week, to lift the lockdown restrictions over the coming few months. It does look like we can, tentatively, begin to look forward to being able to worship together once more. How wonderful that will be. A great answer to prayer, but don’t stop praying about it yet!

Our theme this week, in the penultimate of our Prayer Matters series, is Listening and we look forward to hearing from, or even listening to, Tim as he brings us God’s word.

Prayer Matters: Contemplation - 21st February

Welcome to our virtual gathering! Some of us may be feeling a little apprehensive at the moment ahead of the Prime Minister’s announcement this coming Monday about how and when the current lockdown restrictions will be lifted. When will the children go back to school? When can I see my Grandad? or even…I’m just desperate for a haircut! All of these are as yet unknowns, however, one thing we can be sure of is God’s faithfulness. As we worship, pray and listen together, may you be filled once again with the certainty of God’s love for you.

Wayne, one of our Elders, will be bringing us the message on the next theme in our series of Prayer Matters – Contemplation.

Prayer Matters: Petition - 24th January

Our service this morning is the third session in our series on Prayer Matters and today we will be focusing on Petition . Do not be anxious about anything, but in every situation, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God. This is what we are looking at this morning. We will be looking at another option to help with your prayer life. Palms Up and Palms Down prayer, where you present your requests to God, feel the weight lifted then receive God’s love and peace before resting in His presence. What a great way to start the day!

Covenant and Rededication Service 2021

Our tradition here at BBC is to start each new year by rededicating ourselves to the Lord and his service and being the people of God he has called us to be as we live out our covenant lives with one another. This Sunday sees us participate in our Covenant and Rededication Service, our aim is to try and make the service a more visually connected service than is possible via our current medium of a pre-recorded video. We therefore made the decision that the service will be in two parts. The first part will consist of us joining together at 10.30am via Zoom for a live service, part two of the service followed on directly from the end of part one and both can be watched by clicking on the players below.

Prayer Matters: Adoration - 10th January

Welcome to our online service this morning which is the second in our new series on Prayer Matters with a special focus on Adoration. What a week of ups and downs with new restrictions at home and significant world issues that must concern everyone. Life is rather chaotic at the moment and it’s difficult to even know what day of the week it is. However I am going to ask you to place all your concerns and worries at the foot of the cross and focus on all the positives this morning – and we do have lots to be thankful for.

To Christians, adoration is the lifting up the heart and mind to God asking nothing but to enjoy God’s presence. When you pray do you go to God with a shopping list as Tim mentioned last week or do you include prayers of thanks and worship? We should enjoy spending time with God and that’s what we are going to do this morning.

Prayer Matters: Why Pray? - 3rd January

Welcome to our online service this morning and may I wish you all a Happy New Year on behalf of the church. I hope that despite difficult circumstances you were able to enjoy Christmas as we gave thanks for the birth of Christ. As we close the door on 2020 and begin this new chapter of our lives that is 2021 we continue to stand again on God’s sure and solid promises. In the midst of our difficulties and ongoing uncertainty, we commit to bringing everything to the Lord in prayer. With patient hearts we give thanks for his unfaltering faithfulness and our hope is secured in God’s unending love and abounding joy.
