The Beacon Café is open every Wednesday, from 2pm to 4.30 pm, in the Church Hall. Come and have a chat with friends or just relax in a warm and welcoming, child-friendly, café environment.
The Café has been running since 2005 with the aim of offering a place where people could meet, relax, find company and have a sense of community. We try to offer quality in all that we do through service, the environment of the Café and the products we sell.
We serve fresh teas and coffees, hot chocolate, soft drinks and delicious homemade cakes. Where possible, we like to use fairly traded products to support our global community. We also try to provide a gluten-free option, but we must admit that this is not always homemade.
Our Mission Statement
We aim to provide an attractive non-threatening café venue, offering quality service and a warm welcome through a team of Christians committed to demonstrating the love of Christ and the values of his kingdom in all things.
What our customers say…
We were surprised to see how far some of our customers had travelled when we received this via our Church website:
“Hello from America, My sister Kathleen, our friend Jan, and I visited your church late last month. We especially liked the Beacon Cafe on Wednesday afternoons. When we arrived in England, yours was the first friendly faces we met. And the tea and cakes were wonderful to us weary travelers. In fact, everyone we met in your congregation were wonderful. Your church is very blessed and I pray that the Lord will continue to bless you all. You are a shining light in the community. Keep your doors open and showing God’s love to every stranger.”
Marilee Philen, Bellevue, Nebraska and Kathleen Kent, Stayton, Oregon.
