The church has a healthy interest in football and has played in the
Cambridgeshire Churches' league for the past three seasons.
Sunday 20th May marked the kick off for a new 6-a-side football league for
churches in the Huntingdon area. The first event, held at the St. Ivo Outdoor
Recreation Centre in St. Ives, included adult players young and old from
Bluntisham, Haddenham, Histon and Somersham Baptist Churches, as well as St Ives
Christian Fellowship.
The 6-a-side format is ideal for smaller churches who might find raising an
11-a-side team a challenge.
We're aiming to promote a strong Christian ethos of respect and fair play and
are hoping that other local churches will now want to get involved. We were
encouraged by how the first tournament went, and the plan is to stage more.
If you would like to enter a church team or find out more please e-mail Russell
Banks at and we'll get in touch with you.
Please use the same address if you'd like to find out more about the Bluntisham
Baptist Church team, or simply come along to one of our evening kickabouts at
the St Helen's School end of Bluntisham Field on a Monday evening at 7pm
throughout the summer.
Teamtalk is a weekly e-mail
update through the season.
