AGM

The church AGM will take place on Wednesday 10th March at 7.45pm in the John Wheatley Hall. All church members are invited to this important meeting which will include the election of new Deacons and a proposal to apply for charitable status in our own right amongst other things.

Gift Day

On Sunday March 7th there will be a Gift Day for the Renewal Project. As you will know, while the building is now complete, the project is not yet fully paid for, and we have loans to repay over a number of years to the Baptist Union and the Eastern Baptist Association. We are currently in a good place to repay those loans, indeed we are slightly ahead of our forecast, but nonetheless the quicker we can pay these off, the sooner we can direct our giving to other good causes.This Gift Day is an opportunity for us to focus our giving on this important project. If you are a regular with us, please consider if you can contribute to the Lord’s work in this way.

Hall Opening

You are warmly invited to the opening of the newly extended and refurbished Church Hall on Saturday 6th February. The hall will be open from 11.00am to 3.00pm for you to come and have a look around and enjoy a hot drink and a cake from the Beacon Café.

At 12.00pm Mr. Shailesh Vara MP will be unveiling a new plaque.

Space

Thanks to all those who helped at SPACE last year either by leading sessions, in the crèche, doing refreshments or just by coming along! The dates for the next couple of months are as follows: January 13th and 27th, February 10th and 24th, March 10th and 24th. SPACE is a fellowship and Bible study group for young mums and others around during the day. We called it SPACE because we want it to give us space to be with God, we would love to have you join us. Christmas Day

We will be having our usual Family Christmas morning service at 10:30am this year, why not come along and join us in celebrating our Lords birth?

Carols by Candlelight

This year we will again be having two services on Christmas Eve. The early service will be at 5pm and particularly suitable for families with young children and there will be a more traditional Candlelit Carol service at 7pm. We hope you can all come and join us at either service (or even both if you wish).

Christmas Outreach Service

Please come and join in a service of Praise, Communion and Prayer for this year's Christmas outreach on Wednesday 16th December at 8pm. This service will be led by Nick Hudson and is instead of the advertised evening service on Sunday 13th December.

Church Youth Work

What can we do to engage with the younger members of our church to enable them to grow into a greater role? Aggie (our Deacon for Youth) has laid this challenge before us all to do what we can to make this happen. If you would like to be involved and wish to know more about this, please could you come to a meeting at 8pm on 8th November. It will be at Nick and Wendy's.

Home Groups

Our home groups meet on various nights in the week (and a few daytimes as well) and are a lot like church - but on a smaller scale, and therefore at a deeper level. Real fellowship can be difficult in a crowd, so it's in our small groups that we often experience best what it means to belong to the family of the church. For more details click on the link.

Back to Church Sunday

Sunday 27th September is "Back to Church Sunday" and we would love to see again anyone who perhaps hasn't been to church for a while or has never been and wonders what goes on in church these days. You don't need to do anything special or dress up - just come as you are. We have people from all walks of life, young and old so don't think that church is just for someone else - it's for people just like you!

Showstoppers

This year Holiday Bible Club will run from Monday 20th to Friday 24th July and is called Showstoppers, it is all about God’s big rescue plan for the world. Based around a showbiz theme, the club uses 5 well-known bible stories to explore God’s great plan of salvation. The programme will include the great mix of drama, crafts, Bible stories, music, DVDs and games! For more details click on the link below

BMS Action Team

A BMS Action team from Brazil will be visiting Bluntisham on the 18th to the 25th June 2009. The team will be working with us on various events throughout the week plus visiting local schools to tell of their experiences and to share their individual journeys. 2009 marks the 400th Anniversary of the beginning of Baptist life in England. The evening service on 17th May will be an exploration of that story and will draw lessons for what it means to be a Baptist in England today.

Coffee and Croissants

Renewal Project

We have reached a critical time in preparations for the Renewal Project and there is special Church Members Meeting this Wednesday evening (29th April) at 7:45pm, having heard the recommendations of the Project Steering Group, we aim to appoint a contractor. The Steering Group and the Deacons are also seeking the Members’ approval for applications for loans to cover the balance of the project. All Members are encouraged to come along.
