Wayne Carlson - Spiritual and Pastoral Oversight Deacon
Wayne was born in the USA, but met his wife, Glenna while serving in the US Air Force while in England. They were married in 1968. They have three grown up children and four grandchildren. Wayne became a Christian at the age of 10½ while attending a Bible camp. He attended a Bible College in the USA and returned to England in 1972 to serve God. He became a pastor/elder for the St Ives Christian Fellowship in 1983 until his retirement in 2009. He felt it was right to worship in another Church and started attending Bluntisham Baptist Church in December 2009 and became a member in May 2011.
Wayne's desire is to see Christians reading the Bible and living the Christian faith in their homes and places of work. He helps run a Christian Book Stall on the Monday Market in St Ives.
John Holmes - Spiritual and Pastoral Oversight Deacon
John was married to Joy in 1969, has three children, and four grandchildren. He was baptised in 1987, moving to St. Ives in 1989 and joining the church in Bluntisham. He helps leading worship, part of the Money Advice Centre and welcoming teams, and helps in the café.
He retired some years ago after spending over 40 years working in transport both in the private and public sectors. He was also involved in work on the new developments. He is now a director of the Baptist Union Corporation and Shared Churches (Ely), an ecumenical body seeking to provide faith buildings in Cambridgeshire's new communities He is also a trustee of the Connections Bus Project, a mobile youth project and occasionally drives their bus.
Aside from his interest in transport and community building, he is a football supporter, a season ticket holder at Leicester City.
Catrin Horrex - Spiritual and Pastoral Oversight Deacon, Deacon for Safeguarding
Catrin is married to Dan and they have three daughters. They moved to Bluntisham in 2007 and quickly became involved in the life of Bluntisham Baptist Church.
A teacher by trade, Catrin loves enabling others to develop and grow. Spare time is taken up with singing in the local ladies choir, chilling out with friends and caring for the family guinea pigs.
